Disabled Access Team

The Disabled Access Team works with private landowners, timber companies, and government organizations to remove barriers, and provide land access for hundreds of hunters with disabilities. These volunteers have also built numerous wheelchair platforms with ramps, to ADA specifications which are placed within these hunting areas.

Some of the opportunities available to the disabled hunter are gaining access through Manulife Forest Management, and Inland Empire Paper Company lands; as well as placing wheelchair platforms in several locations within the Colville National Forest’s Disabled Hunter Program at Aladdin Mtn, Brewer Mtn, and Squirrel Meadows.

In addition to sharing how to access disabled status through your medical provider or the Veterans Administration to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife; we also provide information on the many opportunities available to disabled sportsman throughout the Inland Northwest. Do You Qualify as a Disabled Hunter?

The Washington Dept. of Fish & Wildlife’s website has all the criteria to assist you in answering this question, as well as providing all the necessary applications to obtain disabled status and access to the reduced rates for hunting & fishing licenses. Visit www.wdfw.wa.gov/accessibility

Wheelchair Platforms

In 2009, the INWC had the vision of building several wheelchair ramps/platforms for disabled sportsmen. The first platforms were constructed in 2010 and installed in several locations within the Inland Northwest. Today, there are two on WDFW Wildlife Areas and four within the Colville National Forest, to include one that was built as an Eagle Scout project, with more planned.
