PHEASANT CHICK PROGRAM

The Inland Northwest Wildlife Council’s Pheasant Chick Program offers a hands-on opportunity for families to engage in wildlife conservation while creating lasting memories. This cherished program allows participants to raise day-old pheasant and chukar chicks into healthy birds, which are then released into the wild.
More than just raising birds, this program teaches families about wildlife care, habitat needs, and the delicate balance of nature. It’s a fun, educational experience for all ages, where participants gain firsthand knowledge about wildlife stewardship and conservation practices that go beyond the classroom.
The program has grown to include both pheasants and chukars, offering a chance to learn about different species of upland game birds. Families will experience the daily care required to raise the chicks and contribute to the preservation of local wildlife and hunting heritage.
This program is also an excellent educational tool for classrooms and homeschooling programs. It provides a unique, hands-on way for students to learn about biology, ecology, and conservation in a real-world setting—making it a perfect fit for educators looking to engage students with nature in a meaningful way.
Join us in this meaningful conservation effort—raising and releasing these birds is a great way to connect with nature and pass down important conservation values to future generations.
