Route Patrol – Aladdin Mtn & Squirrel Meadows

Tiger Meadows https://maps.app.goo.gl/hafEXfA8Xip1GXv76

Join us for a project that pays it forward! We will be patrolling four routes in total, at two different locales within the eastside of the Colville Natl Forest: Aladdin Mountain and Squirrel Meadows. We will muster at the location linked below, just off of Hwy 20, and East of Hanks Butte Rd, about a 1/4 mile up Rocky Cr Rd. Our route patrol will include traversing each of the three routes on Aladdin, clearing them of winter blowdown, cutting all the fallen trees clear of the route, ensuring it is free and accessible for the entirety of each of those routes (the 330, 350, and 360 Roads). In addition, we will also inspect the two wheelchair platforms on the 360 Rd. If we have enough volunteers, we will send a team over to Squirrel Meadows at the same time to patrol that route and inspect the two platforms there. An advance team will head up to Tiger Meadows and establish a base camp for those who would like to stay overnight either Fri or Sat nights, or both. Whatever does not get completed on Saturday, we can finish on Sunday morning. Bring the kids, the ATV/UTV, and the dog. Let's make this a family friendly event, with some outdoor learning in camp: how to establish emergency shelter, knots for the outdoors, and ways to start a campfire. Have questions? Route Patrol – Betty Cr (Alligator Ridge)

Camp Betty (That's what we call it!) 48.71138, -118.32157

Looking for a way to give back? Looking for a community service project? Join us as we patrol two routes in the Colville National Forest (the 810 and the 830 Rds) that have been gated off for Disabled Access Only. We will patrol each of the routes, cutting away deadfall, ensuring that sportsmen, women, and youth with disabilities have access to the entirety of each route. In addition - we will be installing a wheelchair hunting platform on the 830 Rd. Any work that does not get completed on Saturday, we will wrap up on Sunday. We will be camping overnight to make that easier, and usually share a group dinner around the campfire. Team leaders for the project will arrive on Friday to secure a camp area, feel free to join them! Bring the kids, the ATV/UTV, and the dog. Let's make this a family friendly event, with some outdoor learning in camp: how to establish emergency shelter, knots for the outdoors, and ways to start a campfire. Chain saws, loppers are needed, as well as clothing appropriate for expected weather conditions, gloves, bottled water, etc.Contact the Disabled Access Team for more info: access@inwc.org
