Kids Fishing

Youth Involvement

At the Inland Northwest Wildlife Council, we believe our future depends on the next generation. That’s why we actively create opportunities for kids to connect with the outdoors, build confidence, and learn the value of conservation through hands-on experiences.

From our popular Kids Fishing Day, where children learn to fish with one-on-one guidance and take home their very own poles, to our Pheasant Chick Program, which gives youth the chance to raise and release pheasants as part of a real-life wildlife stewardship project, our activities are designed to spark curiosity, responsibility, and a lasting love for nature.

Family memberships make it easy for everyone to get involved, and many of our volunteer projects welcome participation from all ages. Whether it’s planting native habitat, helping at an event, or joining in on cleanup efforts, families grow closer and kids gain invaluable skills by working side by side in the field.

Getting children outdoors is about more than just fresh air, it’s about teaching patience, building resilience, and fostering a sense of purpose. It’s about helping them understand that they are part of something bigger and that they can make a difference.

We don’t just see kids as participants; we see them as future leaders, conservationists, and defenders of the wild places we love. By involving them today, we invest in tomorrow.
